GPS Data Logger - 65 Channels Bluetooth Connectivity - arrived from China yesterday

GPS LOGGER - Bluetooth enabled 65 channel data logger

I bought this as I am thinking of starting a new business delivering leaflets where I live. SO in order to prove to customers I was delivering the leaflets, and not throwing them over the nearest wall or hedge, I bought this nifty little gadget which works extremely well.

I looked at the prices of other GPS loggers and I will admit my heart stopped a few times at the prices....however this little gadget cost no more than $38 which is about £25 which is awesome. Basically all you do is turn it on from the point you want to start recording you movements from and then it starts taking a reading every so many seconds, or so many metre. Once you have finished with your route you want to record, simply turn it off and it records all the routes and GPS co-ordinates automatically.

You then connect it to your PC via Bluetooth, please make sure your PC or laptop has bluetooth, I found out mine did not and had to buy a bluetooth dongle off ebay which was only £2.80 delivered, but the supplied USB to headphone style jack is for power only and recharging the battery. Just warning you before you pull your hair out saying this isn't going to work, I have no hair left and shave my head so I wasn't worried  anyway.

It comes in a very nice neat retail cardboard box packaging along with a CD which contains 2 pieces of software which are very clever, a USB to Headphone jack style lead, travel adaptor, car charger and power pack (2 Prong). One program is called GPS Track Tagger which reads the GPS co-ordinates automatically and displays them on google maps all within the same program. You can also clear your routes you have went, see points joined up on the map via different coloured lines you can change to custom colours etc.

Then it also comes with a program called Blue Soleil which connects the GPS Logger device to your computer and syncs it with the program. All instructions are very well detailed and if you kick or punch your computer cause your angry you have been screwed when you try to connect Blue Soleil to the device and it asks you for a password, fear not, I broke several of my knuckles punching the table until I opened the Help document in the GPS Tagger software which gives out the password which is "0000".

I must say I am very impressed with this product and have shown a screen shot of the software in use and how it is displayed its very easy to follow instructions with an intuitive user interface when you get used to it. I will create a follow up post showing a route I will walk later tonight to make sure its accurate and places me in the same country I should be walking in and it saying I am in somewhere like Siberia or something.
