Ice watches from China - GOOD QUALITY BUT CANNOT SELL THEM EEK!

Chinese Ice Watches (Replicas I should say)

I bought about 4 months ago some Chinese "ICE" watches after stumbling across them from a Chinese supplier. I had at that time no idea what the heck an ICE watch was and thought it might melt  because of the time it would take to get here to the UK from China.

However because they looked so cool with their fancy retail packaging (which was also copied) along with a cool gift bag, guarantee card and set of instructions, all with the ICE brand logo's on them, I thought I would give them a go.

When they arrived and I took them out of the packaging, I found that 2 of them were broke, which was no biggy I thought due to the price I had paid for them. Once I got them, I started to put them onto Ebay and straight away BOOM! email coming back saying that these are counterfeits and was not allowed for sale on Ebay.

I was like wow that was quick about 30 seconds to see they are counterfeit its a new world record. So after getting this telling off, I went in search of the real watches at my local jewellers in Belfast and low and behold, there they were! The selling price of a basic model of the one I had was from £79.99! My eyes nearly popped out of my head and could see from the price I paid for them and the price they should be, I got screwed by a bunch of fakes. BUT VERY GOOD FAKES I MUST SAY.

They were such good fakes that my sister in law had a red REAL GENUINE ICE WATCH her husband bought her for Christmas. I  took my fake RED watch around and tried to spot the differences between them. To my astonishment, I could not find a thing at all different about the two. My brother, my sister in laws husband, took it home for 2 days to find a difference between the two and he did find one very small thing which we missed time and time again.

On the metal buckle part of the watch where the strap goes through to tighten, the REAL ICE WATCH does not have the ICE logo stamped into it which the FAKE one did. That is the only difference after several days we could see from the original to the copy that made it stand out. Even the packaging was the same down to a T. It comes with a barcode which seems to relate, all the barcodes attached, to the pink ice watch, along with a small photo of the pink watch attached to it.

There is ICE watch tags as well along with every watch which is a nice touch and is very well done. They also come in a plastic lego style box which can be used as a money box afterwards and with a black cardboard surround with a hole in the top showing you which colour is in the box.

You can now get these exact same watches with the ICE logo removed from Chinese suppliers which is a good thing. Selling counterfeits is not a good business to be in and I would not be associated with it. Overall very good watches, out of 25 I got 3 broke altogether as 2 were when it was delivered and one of them the hand fell off after about 2 weeks. The other 22? Working perfectly....the supplier also gave me some free extra batteries to go with it how sweet :D.

I have given them out to family and friends so not to rip people off but you will see people on Gumtree selling these for like £7-£35 and upwards and you can definitely tell from these prices...THEY ARE NOT REAL :).

Below is a video comparing the real watch to the fake watch. It seems the real watches have glass as the material to cover the watch, where the fake ones have a plastic covering on them over the face of the watch:

Looking for the genuine article? ICE Watches are sold on Amazon.co.uk by Ice themselves as no one else has permission to list them. Some models are listed below if interested in purchasing for that special someone:

Thanks.

    1. Hi there,

I must say that out of 25 of them around 5 ended up broke I am afraid. I have a black one sitting beside me right now and its still ticking away after 6 months. Some other people I sold too says that after about 4 weeks a watch hand fell off or the silicone strap broke.

I asked them how they put it on and watching them put another one on I could tell they were pulling the strap very hard and tightening it by pulling th elongest part of the strap that sticks out which shouldn't be done.

Sometimes people say they stop for about 10 minutes as well then suddenly start again, however this could be a sign that the battery installed in the watch is perhaps running low on juice or its a very low quality battery which can't keep the power supply constant. You will find after a while you may be 5-10 minutes late to somewhere which is good to keep an eye on.

Apart from those 2 little niggles they sold very well to friends and family, the striking colours are what catches people. As long as you treat them with a bit of care they should last no problem.

The packaging and box that they come in are outstanding and just like the original. The small gift bag that comes with it makes it look like a luxury gift.

      Thanks,

  3. Hi Bacore,

Yeah if you look on aliexpress.com and type in ice watch you will see a lot coming up that will let you buy with the box, warranty certificate, gift bag and lego style box its amazing package. The only thing you need to remove is the ice watch tag as nearly all the chinese fakes have the purple barcode and picture attached to the watch when they should correspond to the proper colour of the watch its attached to.

  4. Hi Henry,

Do you have any links to the watches you bought? Would like ones that have certificates, packaging etc but can only find ones without.

    1. Hi Lauren go to aliexpress.com and type in "Ice Watches" in the search and you will see ones come up with the packaging and certificates etc.

The only problem is that they are starting to remove them and rebranding the watches other names but are essentially the same watch. Also the ones with the certificates usually no matter what colour they are have the purple watches barcode and label attached to them.

      Hope this helps.

      thanks,

      Henry

  6. Hi Henry

Thanks for the blog. I about had twenty fake pink ice watches headed this way thru aliexpress. Think I got the order canceled before it shipped.

I do not need twenty fake pink watches that I cannot sell on eBay.

    1. good that you cancelled them as Ebay will cancel them almost on the sport I think mine lasted about 8 minutes and then it was gone. However I did put some on Gumtree and sold 4 of them that way saying that they were replicas but people still bought them :).

The best day was when I took 18 of the remaining ones into work and came home with none LOL family and friends go nuts about them when they see and check online how much ice watches are really worth :).

I suggest you get the cheaper watches off Aliexpress, they are the ice watches but without the ice logo or packaging but look exactly the same. Some are branded silly brands like ICEY, or SS.com or chinese names etc but they are exactly the same watch for only a few pounds each.

      Hope this helps. Thanks.

  8. I bought one in Egypt too! Soho square in Sharm El Sheikh has so many shops that sell fake ice watches. I got mine for 50 egyptian pounds (5 GBP)and saw on the plane back that they were selling them for £75! So definately a bargain. So far I can see nothing that makes them look obviously fake, and none of my friends and family believed me when I told them it wasn't real.

    1. Can't remember the seller was so long ago think he disappeared off Aliexpress too which was a bit suspicous :) but I got a good deal and a half decent watch for pennies almost literally.

Yeah at the time it was through Paypal, using my credit card so you have double the protection, plus then aliexpress money back guarantee on it so losing your money would be pretty difficult unless you purposely threw it down the drain lol. I wouldn't risk buying them to be honest as customs catch on and see more and more of them come in they know that they are fakes and end up destroying them. They might give you a phone call asking you to come down to collect them, if you do you will probably be arrested, if you leave them, they will be destroyed and leave you be. Sorry for late reply need to start adding more stuff to this blog each day :)
